I’m the mom of two awesome little boys. I spend most of my time (when I’m not at the Union;)) playing with them and volunteering at their school. Also, I recently became a children’s yoga instructor.What brought you to the yoga practice?
A friend that practices Bikram suggested I try it out. I was immediately hooked.How often do you take class?
I practice as often as I can, typically 7 days a week. I have family near by, so I know my boys are in good hands while I am practicing.What specific physical issues, if any, did you have before taking you first class?
I didn’t have any major, recent physical issues prior to starting my practice.What are the greatest benefits of your practice?
For me the benefits have been both physical and emotional strength.How has this practice changed your health and life? Any emotional or other benefits?
I know I’m stronger and more toned than I was prior to coming into this practice. I’ve always worked out. I was a gymnast growing up, and as an adult I’ve enjoyed various forms of exercise (swimming, kickboxing, Pilates etc.). Within a couple weeks of beginning this practice I saw my body changing and felt much more even emotionally. I have more patience with the people in my life. I’m overall much more laid back.What is your favorite part of the yoga?
My favorite part of the yoga is the journey. This is tough stuff! There is a lot going on in every posture. I love seeing myself improve in the postures. I always leave with a pep in my step when I’ve had an “ah-ha" moment in class, or gathered a new knowledge nugget from the instructor. When I have a rough class I can’t wait to get back in the room and try it again the next day.
